This 1,762 piece puzzle and newsprint was produced as the ticket edition on the occasion of the 2022 NYABF Opening Night. Those who attended the Fair’s opening exchanged their ticket for one piece of this large puzzle, hand selected and distributed by Sethi. The accompanying 15x22 newsprint is the puzzle’s full photograph, plus a bonus reverse side!
From the artist:
While sorting through boxes in my studio, I came across this stack of prints, all imperfect or physically damaged from being hung in previous exhibitions. Unable to figure out what to do with them, they sat on my table for months, constantly being shuffled, until I decided to photograph them in their current state. Seeing them all together in a photograph made them feel complete, and infinitely more powerful. Photography is beautiful in that way. It gives a new life to things, a reincarnation of sorts. Like these photographs, as well as the puzzle pieces they’re printed on, we too are connected; only strengthened by our proximity to others, and a small but important part of something much larger.
