Live (published by Performing Arts Journal and previously titled Performance Art) was a New York City-based arts magazine established in 1979 and edited by Bonnie Marranca and Gautam Dasgupta. In addition to in depth coverage of visual arts, Live includes artist writings, interviews, dialogues, and documentation, making it an indispensable record of the cross-media avant-garde in New York City and beyond.
Issue #3 includes coverage of Dance Day at The Kitchen, the Intermedia Festival (with statements from Allan Kaprow, Dick Higgins, Joan Jonas, and Meredith Monk), S.F. MoMA’s Space/Time/Sound—The Seventies, and Performance Alla Milanese: Sixto Notes Festival.
