Where Ya At? is a glossy, full color skate zine by Los Angeles based artist Rinny Perkins. This zine features Perkin’s 70’s style photography and graphics interwoven with skateboarding imagery and portraiture. In Vice’s interview with Rinny Perkins, she said in regards to her work “I strive to saturate viewers with undeniable images of Blackness… so much so that our existence is normalized and not othered.” This self-published zine is a celebration of Black skate culture in Los Angeles through a feminist lens.
Artist and designer Rinny Perkins was born in Houston, Texas and lives and works in Los Angeles. She uses vintage 70’s advertisements and album covers as a vehicle for intersectional feminist content. Her work has been featured in Vice, US of America, and SF Gate.
