The Dudes You Date, The Vans They Wear is a glossy, full color zine by Los Angeles artist Rinny Perkins. The zine is a hilarious commentary on the stereotypes of various men through their choice of Vans shoes. Perkins uses the skate zine format in order to insert a feminist critique on skate culture and dating in Los Angeles. This zine features Perkin’s 70’s style graphics in addition to text describing the type of guy that might wear each particular style of Vans.

Artist and designer Rinny Perkins was born in Houston, Texas and lives and works in Los Angeles. She uses vintage 70’s advertisements and album covers as a vehicle for intersectional feminist content. Her work has been featured in Vice, US of America, and SF Gate.
