Dot finds an affirming beauty in anonymity through a number of brief illustrated stories in which the narrator (and everyone around them) becomes a dot. This loss of identity becomes a enlightening blurring of self and other: “No one noticed us. We didn’t notice ourselves either, and all of us walking down this street in our beating hearts must have then understood for once the meaning of universal love.” Gaurav Monga enacts this thematic unity typographically, as the dots and other images become icons that weave elegantly into written language throughout.
