LOVE LOVE magazine / A magazine of the Arts
LOVE LOVE magazine is an independent print magazine based in Paris. It brings together textual and visual artists from around the world for a creative explosion of new visions in poetry, photography, illustration, collage art and music in a bi-annual publication.
The magazine is mainly in English, but features French texts and translations. Its main collaborator and patron is Gerard Malanga, poet and photographer, first assistant to Andy Warhol, actor in his films and choreographer of Velvet Underground.
LOVE LOVE contributors include legendary artists from the Beat Generation circle, with names like Anne Waldman, Ed Sanders, Tuli Kupferberg (the Fugs), Charles Plymell, AD Winans and Bob Branaman to noise legend Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), pop stars and artists like Peter Doherty, Jonathan Richman, Anton Newcombe, Emmanuele Seigner, The Limiñanas, Brisa Roché, Jo Wedin & Jean Felzine, Gil Lesage and Pierre Emery from Ultra Orange, music critic Byron Coley and poets like Jeremy Reed and rising star Scarlett Sabet, whose latest album was produced by Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page.
The visual arts are also very present with works by artists such as animator / illustrator Olivier Boscovitch, rock collage artist Julien Langendorff, painter Neal Fox, legendary Chelsea Hotel photographer Tony Notarberardino, photographer Nico Malvaldi and many other rising stars in visual art.
LOVE LOVE magazine is a rare object of beauty, inspired by the fanzine aesthetic of PUNK magazine, FUCK YOU / A magazine of the Arts and National Lampoon. Its creator Lisa Marie Järlborn still works with the cut-and-paste technique, illustrates the covers herself and also creates an exclusive edition of hand-printed colour cover magazines by screen printing. The magazine is printed on paper and is approximately 60 pages per issue in 500 copies. The magazine publishes only unpublished works and with copyright.
