An eclectic collection of photographic images makes up Luna #27, a medium-sized xerox zine published by artist/photographer Lele Saveri through the expanding non-profit 8 Ball Community Inc. Each page, bereft of direct contextualization, is forced to communicate visually with its neighboring composition, which constructs an imprecise narrative that may differ drastically based on the reader’s negotiating of imagery primarily pertaining to death, adolescence, and the unique object-hood of figurative sculptures. Saveri is unrestrictive in regards to the traditional trajectory and/or significance of the objects in her photographs; he juxtaposes images with similar compositional formats or elements, which operates as a subtle scaffolding on which one can begin to appreciate each contribution on its own, in a pair, or within the context of the whole.
