Homeschooling is at the center of the performance and video work by Angela Marzullo, which analyzes critical texts from the ’60s and ’70s, and recreates them involving the artist’s two daughters as protagonists. In book form, the publication presents a decade of production by Marzullo, highlighting the evocative value and content of images and text. The book includes two essays by Anna Cestelli Guidi and Francesco Ventrella.
Homeschooling is an elaboration – from an artistic perspective – of issues related to feminism and to its development in the twentieth century, issues that remain relevant to contemporary cultural debate. With its large evocative images, and texts and dialogues presented in lyrical/literary form, Homeschooling associates twentieth-century feminist thought and criticism with the personal experience of the artist, as well as with new feminist approaches in contemporary art. - NERO
