Model Turned Comedian is New York-based painter and stand-up comedian Heather Guertin’s first project with Social Malpractice Publishing. This comical work of fiction traces the story from a first-person perspective of a young woman working as a “shopping model” in Los Angeles, CA. Over a period of several years, she transitions into a career stand-up comic who achieves a considerable amount of success while alienating many of those around her. This publication was originally produced in a limited run of 50 zines for the 2012 New York Art Book Fair, but is now re-issued as a perfect-bound book in collaboration with Publication Studio in Portland, OR. This second edition was released at the 2013 Los Angeles Art Book Fair.
