This unique piece by Karen Finley is a photocopy with colored pencil on paper. The typed narrative, an excerpt from Finley’s “I’m an Ass Man” spoken word piece, describes the inner monologue of a character whose fascination with women’s bodies quickly turns dark. Corrections to the narrative are made by the artist in colored pencil. The work was produced as part of EYE Magazine’s never fully realized 14th edition, edited by filmmaker Paul Hasegawa-Overacker also known as Paul H-O, who commissioned 30 artists from all over the country to produce a page of artwork, which would then be duplicated and bound as a kind of artist original book. This unique piece is signed and numbered in an edition of 200. The artwork is also presented with paperwork from EYE Magazine, signed by Paul H-O.
