Wear is the journal of the art space HomeShop. Located on a commercial stretch of road in Beijing’s Gulou neighborhood, HomeShop is a live/work space for a group of artists who use the building’s storefront as a space to engage the public in community-based projects. The second issue of Wear addresses the theme of “cultural exchange,” with an emphasis on the problems inherent in this term, centered on the projects, events and research taking place around HomeShop itself and in the surrounding city of Beijing. It is an elaborate publication, in Chinese and English, printed in color on thick glossy board. Featuring contributions from editor Elaine W. Ho, Michael Eddy, Raqs Media Collective, Instant Hutong, Gao Bei, and many others.
