“This audio CD is digitally remastered from the original ¼” open-reel analog tape recorded during Barbara Rosenthal’s reading with slides at The Poetry Project, NYC, April 1984, in conjunction with the Visual Studies Workshop press publication of the book in which surreal photographs are integrated with her text.
Each one-page story leads to the next, resulting in an avant-garde novel about a person named “She,” who is occasionally referred to as “Rocket,” an alias used to identity her go-go dancer alter-ego. “She” balances various states of semi- and heightened consciousness, evoking harrowing memories as she treads a fine line between reality, imagination, fact and fiction, which Rosenthal brings off with a fine sense of absurdist humor and genuine pathos.“ -from the back cover
