Founded in 1982 as a non-profit organization, the International Society of Copier Artists’ mission was to recognize and promote the use of the copier as a creative tool. The ISCA Quarterly was the assemblage project of the Society whose activities also included lectures, slide shows, workshops, and traveling exhibitions. Issues of the journal are composed entirely of original art made by contributing artists – printmakers, painters, photographers, graphic designers, book artists and computer graphists who use the photocopy machine to create works of art in editions of 100-150.
With this double issue, the I.S.C.A. Quarterly begins its twenty first and final year of showcasing xerographic prints and artists’ books. While the International Society for Copier Artists will live on, this is the second to last print issue they will put out. It contains work by Director Louise Neaderland, Par Merrill, Rick Drobner, John Padgett, Karen Anne Klein, Penny Dell, Ralph Neaderland, Conor Ryan, Carol Anne Freid, Amy Doherty, Keiichi Nalamura, Eta Castelanos, Beatriz Mendoza, Bonnie Jean Woolger, Bill Ward, Eiichi Matsuhashi, Diane Tarter, and Leonore Pierotti. Aditionally, contributing students from The Pratt Institute and SUNY Purchase include Anne Gilman (instructor), Emily Downs, Danielle Jaye Chason, Eliza Hartley, Zoe Darling, Morgan Hill, Lizze Sise, Andrea Gordon, Katie Bronson, and Kak Young Lee. Plus: Cynthia Dantzic and a small book work by Owen Smith.
