Omar Sotomayor is an Ecuadorian-born photographer and founder of the seminal punk band, Ultratumba. In this zine, his first book of photos, Omar hints at the intimate portraiture of Richard Kern and Ed Templeton, delving into his archives to find erotic / humorous situations he has shot during the past ten years with close friends and partners.

Omar deliberately toned-down the eroticism of this set of images (alas, conservative porn) as a comment to his upbringing in the port of Guayaquil, a port single-handedly ruled by Partido Social Cristiano, a puritan political party known for shutting down cultural spaces and dissenting voices within the arts. A second -and rawer- book, Liberal Porn, is in the works.
