Nicolas Burrows is an artist, illustrator and musician from the UK. His practice is mostly collage-based, embracing chance and improvisation and using an eclectic array of materials and processes. His work plays with the languages of mid-century modern graphic design, folk art and contemporary painting, appearing spontaneous and raw but often achieved using convoluted digital/analogue techniques. Nicolas works on a range of commercial, publishing and experimental projects as a member of Nous Vous collective and releases music under the name Fell.
Right Left Down Up is a collection of drawings made using a very slow process of moving one pixel around on a computer screen. These simple images are drawn from memory – familiar everyday objects and visual tropes wrestled onto the page by way of four small arrows at the bottom-right of a keyboard.
