A studio project dating back to 2014, ‘On Air’ is the collaboration between Mark Demolar and Gerry McConnell. Using a setup of primarily analog gear, the two have been getting together consistently over the years at Gerry’s studio in Lower Manhattan. These recordings are merely a first-time look into the deeply personal world of two friends who’ve enthusiastically balanced an earnest nod to traditions past with an optimistic look towards the future.
Featured on the B-side is one of the founding members of the Sweat Equity label/parties, Dan Creahan, AKA Stress. Over the years, DC has amassed a healthy catalog of his signature hardware-based tracks (under various monikers) on labels such as Bootleg Tapes, Embalming Lately and C-. Referring to this collection of material as a “dedication to the perilous emotional wasteland that is the NYC Subway System”, ‘Stress’ delivers us from evil by looking at it square in the eyes. - Kapha Selections
