Recently founded by Joseph Mosconi and Rita Gonzalez as an online and print journal, Area Sneaks seeks to “touch the live wire where language and visual art meet,” following a cross-disciplinary precedent set by Gertrude Stein’s Paris Salon, Bernadette Mayer and Vito Acconci’s editorial partnership, and Mike Kelley’s interest in systems of literary knowledge.
Features of this second issue include a Visual Poetry Forum with K. Lorraine Graham, Robert Grenier, Jessica Smith, Peter Ciccariello, William R. Howe, Derek Beaulieu, and Johanna Drucker; poetry taken from Demosthenes Agrafiotis’ Chinese Notebook; and interviews with Analia Saban and Edgar Arceneaux. Other contributors include Aaron Kunin, Doug Nufer, Franklin Bruno, Ara Shirinyan, Will Alexander, Richard Kostelanetz, and Jody Zellen.
