This book consists of a series of three page segments, each comprised of a list of cities from approximately the same geographic location, a bleed-prit of a political map of roughly the same area (both on transparent vellum), and an opaque page of a pen and watercolor drawing combined with an black and white photographic image.
The homogeneity of the names, the rendering of geography into geometry, and the stylistic and thematic sameness of the events depicted all speak eloquently of the construction of the world into the seamless series of protests, crashes, arrests, and sporting events that has come to stand for history. The lists of cities often cross arbitrary divisions to point to regional affinities that transcend political boundaries.
